This is Ben reporting from Chasing Ben.com. The female bobcat Cisco and male bobcat Morris have an amazing story. A Washington state couple were illegally keeping them in their house. You need a license to own a bobcat, since they are carnivores. Bobcats are related to lynx. They look almost exactly the same, but bobcats have a "bobby" tail. There were also four lynx with Cisco and Morris. The couple made Cisco and Morris breed other bobcats. The sold the baby bobcats as "pets",which is also illegal. Cisco and Morris's illegal situation came to the Washington State Humane Society. With the help of a prosecutor,Cisco,Morris and their offspring got a court order, getting them out of their problem. That was only the beginning. The bobcat family needed a recovery place and a forever home. Since they were born in captivity, the family couldn't be send into the wild, since they couldn't hunt and defend themselves. So, the Wild Animal Sanctuary in Keenesburg,,CO took them in. The Wild Animal Sanctuary is a 720-acre sanctuary for carnivores bred in captivity. This is not a zoo,the animals have a proper habit. Cisco and Morris currently live happily with the other bobcats in the large habitat. They now have plenty of room and the freedom they deserved from the start.
